Technology by itself in isolation does not have the same effect because it can become passive. However, technology used in education as an instructional tool that drives discussion, provides access, promotes creativity, supports collaboration and cultivates an ownership of learning can be a powerful resource in any learning experience.

We know this as educators- that is why when I get the opportunity to work with amazing teachers and leaders around the world using digital tools – they say, “show me – don’t tell me”. That is the purpose of this site. To discuss, demonstrate, and to inspire a change in practice using 5 “I” Learning Design and digital tools as an intentional element to increase learning outcomes for all members in a learning community, large or small.

Learning should be “visible” for both educators and students 🎉 #StraightUpEDU.

With over 25 years of experience in various levels of educational leadership, I am currently the Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Headmaster of Schools at Innovate Academy and Preparatory School, where I oversee the curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development of the school, ensuring alignment with the school's mission, vision, and values. I have a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, focusing on systematic integration and shift in practice implementing technology in education, and I am recognized as an expert on transformational change in education practice by the American Educational Research Association. I am also the Co-Founder and Chief Academic Officer at GuardRailz, a company that brings AI to all levels of education and beyond. I leverage my previous experience as a Sr. Industry Executive for US Education at Microsoft, where I developed and managed strategic partnerships, drove proficiency and capacity across all solution areas on education industry, and led the US Training Partner Program. I am passionate about empowering others to achieve their full potential and drive positive change in education. I am a keynote speaker, an author, and a consultant on all things education, especially on how to leverage technology and innovation to enhance learning outcomes and experiences.
