Technology by itself in isolation does not have the same effect because it can become passive. However, technology used in education as an instructional tool that drives discussion, provides access, promotes creativity, supports collaboration and cultivates an ownership of learning can be a powerful resource in any learning experience.
We know this as educators- that is why when I get the opportunity to work with amazing teachers and leaders around the world using digital tools – they say, “show me – don’t tell me”. That is the purpose of this site. To discuss, demonstrate, and to inspire a change in practice using 5 “I” Learning Design and digital tools as an intentional element to increase learning outcomes for all members in a learning community, large or small.
Learning should be “visible” for both educators and students 🎉 #StraightUpEDU.

I believe the best leadership happens when purpose, people, and possibility come together.
For more than 30 years, I have worked across education, technology, public-sector, and social-impact environments, helping organizations turn ambitious ideas into meaningful outcomes. My career has taken me from the classroom to school and district leadership, the superintendency, EdTech, and Microsoft, giving me a unique perspective on what it takes to move from vision to sustainable, system-level change.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of education transformation, AI, leadership, workforce development, policy, partnerships, and organizational change. I advise leaders and organizations as they navigate some of their most complex challenges, bringing people together around a shared vision and translating strategy into practical action.

At the heart of my leadership is a simple belief: people are capable of extraordinary things when they are given the opportunity, support, confidence, and tools to lead.
That belief has shaped my work with students, educators, leaders, organizations, and communities. Whether I am helping an organization navigate transformation, advising leaders on AI, developing partnerships, building leadership capacity, or championing a cause I believe in, I am motivated by the same question:
How do we turn possibility into meaningful and lasting impact?
I'm especially energized by opportunities where mission and experience intersect, and where strong leadership can help an organization grow its impact, strengthen its people, and create opportunities for others.
